VERTICAL PRO ascends with new project manager

From fall protection to route setting, from high ropes courses to alpine rescue: Once again, this year’s Vertical Pro in Friedrichshafen will cover the full breadth of professional climbing, working at heights, rope access and both indoor and outdoor climbing centers. Starting on May 1, 2023, Salem native Sharon Kommer takes the lead spot on the rope team as the Vertical Pro’s new project manager. “Sharon Kommer will be a great new asset and complement to the Vertical Pro: She’s highly capable and motivated, and she’ll bring new drive to the already established format of this interdisciplinary specialist trade fair,” says Klaus Wellmann, CEO of Messe Friedrichshafen . He expressed gratitude and appreciation for the work of previous project manager Annika Raff, who is handing over the Vertical Pro in outstanding shape before her move abroad.

With over ten years of experience in the event and marketing business, the new project manager is fully prepared to seek new adventures and lofty heights: “In fact, I already have some private climbing experience,” she laughs. Nor is the trade fair business entirely new to her: After completing a dual education program in business administration for fair, convention and event management, this native of nearby Salem, Germany, took a leading role in organizing numerous large-scale projects and events throughout Baden-Württemberg for her previous employer. What the young project manager finds particularly thrilling about this specialist trade fair is its variety: “From tree care to the rescue from heights, the Vertical Pro’s unique format provides a platform for exchange across industries. I look forward to working together with our experienced team and our customers from all sectors involving working at heights to set up another exciting event for any vertical professional.”

The third Vertical Pro will take place in Friedrichshafen on November 24 and 25, 2023.
