Of all pieces of climbing equipment, the climbing shoe has the most direct influence on climbing performance. Its characteristics are largely determined by the rubber used in the shoe. As developers and users, we have therefore investigated various types of climbing shoe rubber available on the market in terms of their friction properties and resilience.
In this presentation, we will outline the test setup and the results of this investigation.
