Most of the textile fasteners of the PSAgA are marked with a minimum breaking strength of over 20 kN and are therefore also certified. But how do external influences such as solar radiation or even direct contact with chemicals affect the strength of textiles? Certain techniques (knots) can also extremely reduce the strength. In a live demonstration, the Petzl company will first test some classic anchor knots, and the strength of webbing slings will also be examined.

Do you have old, used or extremely (over)stressed PPE? After the specified tests, there is the possibility to check the residual strength of the climbing equipment you have brought with you - as far as it can be installed in the Crashbox.

Trees in the climate crisis - impacts of heat, drought, storms and infestations in the rope park

Dying trees in adventure parks, ropes courses between dead trunks - for climbing forest operators, this nightmare has unfortunately become reality far too often. What leads to the death of formerly healthy trees? What risks does this pose for ropes course operations? How long are dead trees still suitable for a supporting structure, and does this affect the required inspections? Using tree-biological, mycological and biomechanical backgrounds, the first answers to such questions will be shown.

Application of the EN 15567-1 ropes course standard in practice

DIN EN 15567 - Ropes courses refers to permanent and mobile low ropes courses and high ropes courses. The standard applies to ropes courses whose supporting structure consists of wooden posts or trees, and equally to adventure ropes courses and ropes courses for adventure education. The standard is therefore applied to a wide variety of structures and concepts. In addition, some of the requirements of the standard cannot be fulfilled technically. In the lecture, examples will be used to explain how this can be dealt with.

Safe planning of elevated workplaces

In order to achieve the common goal of organising safe and economical work at heights, clients, planners, architects, civil engineers and other disciplines must plan in an interdisciplinary manner and thus create the conditions for accident-free work at heights. This coordination is often delegated into the hands of those with the least ability to prevent hazards.

If all those involved in the process would dedicate themselves to this issue, processes could run much more smoothly and safely.
